Privacy Policy

Effective 15 September 2026

This policy explains what the Learn Fret app (“the app”) and this website do with your information. Learn Fret is made by Brylk Creations (“we”, “us”). The short version: we don't collect any personal data.

  • No account — you never sign up or log in.
  • No recordings — microphone audio is analysed on your phone in real time and immediately discarded.
  • No internet access — the app doesn't request internet permission, so it can't send data anywhere.
  • No ads, analytics or tracking — there are no third-party SDKs that collect data.
  • Local only — your settings and practice scores are saved on your device and nowhere else.

1. Microphone

The app asks for microphone permission so it can hear your instrument. It uses the microphone only while one of these screens is open: Tuner, Note Finder, Chord Detector, Fret Trainer and Chord Challenge.

2. What the app stores on your device

To remember your preferences and progress, the app saves a small amount of information in its private storage on your phone:

InformationWhyWhere
Settings Instrument and tuning, reference pitch (A4), in-tune range, microphone sensitivity, sharps or flats, left-handed fretboard, vibration, and metronome tempo, time signature, subdivision and sound. On your device only
Practice progress The level you chose for each game and the chord library, and your best scores. On your device only

This information isn't linked to your identity and is never sent to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes it permanently.

If you've turned on Android's own backup feature, Android may include this app data in your device backup, which is stored in your Google account under Google's control. We can't see those backups.

3. What we don't collect

The app does not collect, and we never receive, any of the following: your name, email or contacts; location; photos or files; device identifiers or the advertising ID; audio recordings; usage analytics; or crash logs.

4. Permissions

5. Google Play

When you download the app from Google Play, Google processes information such as your account and device details under the Google Privacy Policy. Google may give us anonymous, aggregated statistics like install counts. If you've chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with app developers in your Android settings, Google may also show us anonymous crash reports. None of this identifies you personally.

6. Children

Learn Fret is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children.

7. This website

learnfret.krishtasood.in doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted by Netlify, which processes standard technical information such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver the site and keep it secure, as described in Netlify's privacy policy. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply.

8. Your rights

Because we don't hold any personal data about you, there's nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Your in-app data is fully under your control on your own device. If you have any questions or requests, contact us and we'll help.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts handling data differently, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect, and describe the change in the app's release notes.
